Ben Caplan
Ben Caplan is a filmmaker and artist hailing from Alexandria, Louisiana. After graduating from LSU in December ’23 with a BA, he decided to pursue a master's degree in film production at Chapman University. His dedication to pushing the boundaries of cinema is driven by a desire to challenge conventions while honoring the legacy of those who came before him. Caplan seeks to weave classic filmmaking techniques and visual styles into his work to forge a new voice that is uniquely his own. His vision is to provoke thought and emotion, always walking the fine line between the profound and the provocative. In his free time, Caplan enjoys watching movies, playing games, photography, going to museums, and learning as much as he can to pursue the art and career he so deeply loves.
THE PRODUCER
Rebecca Rose Marrow
Extremely passionate and dedicated, Rebbeca “Bex” Rose Marrow is an award-winning producer and filmmaker currently in pursuit of a dual degree MBA/MFA in Film Production from Chapman University and the American Film Institute. After growing up all over the world due to her parent's academic background, Rose Marrow developed a passion for stories that not only educate but have a significant social message. She earned her BSFS in Regional Studies at Georgetown University. Additionally, Rose Marrow has interned for both The Walt Disney Corporation and the American Pavillion at the Festival de Cannes for two years in a row.
THE WRITER
Jessica Kahle
Jessica Kahle is a screenwriter and creative development specialist with a passion for stories of social impact, with a particular comfort in the niche between what makes us scared and what makes us laugh. Leaping industries from the corporate and nonprofit sectors to entertainment, she holds a strong belief in the human connection that can be equally fostered through comedy and horror. She holds a BA in International Relations from UC Santa Barbara (2018), and is an MFA Screenwriting candidate at Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film & Television (2025). Her features have placed in the Final Draft Big Break Screenplay Competition, and is currently in her second internship supporting her second major horror production house.
THE DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY
Amelia Jáuregui
Amelia Jáuregui is a cinematography student in the Graduate Film Production program at Chapman University. At Chapman, Jáuregui is on the board of the Graduate Student Council for Dodge College of Film and Media Arts as well as the upcoming Co-President for the Women In Film club for the 2024-2025 school year. Prior to her time at Chapman, Jáuregui graduated in 3 years from Oklahoma State University, where she was a Multimedia Journalism and Strategic Communications double major, a Division 1 Cross Country and Track Athlete, and part of the President’s Leadership Council. She completed undergraduate video internships at Edmon Low Library (OSU) and Effect.Org. Though Jáuregui has only spent one year dedicated to cinematography, she has had a camera in her hands since she was a toddler. (She thanks Santa for making her Christmas wish come true with a camera when she was 3 years old!)
